SriLankan Airlines and Air Seychelles have announced a strategic codeshare partnership, aiming to offer seamless travel options across multiple new destinations spanning Asia, Africa, and Australia. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in enhancing connectivity for passengers traveling between Colombo and Mahé.

By joining forces, SriLankan Airlines and Air Seychelles are set to expand their network reach significantly. Passengers can now enjoy enhanced travel flexibility with convenient options to explore over 20 destinations, including sought-after cities like Sydney, Melbourne, various Indian cities, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.

The codeshare agreement enables travellers to book their entire journey seamlessly, with codeshare flights allowing for a smoother transition and luggage check-in all the way to the final destination. This partnership not only simplifies travel logistics but also provides passengers with a seamless booking experience through online travel agencies and local travel agents.

Richard Nuttall, CEO, SriLankan Airlines, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Our collaboration with Air Seychelles opens up new avenues for our passengers, particularly in Africa. We are committed to enhancing connectivity and providing our customers with more travel options.”

Charles Johnson, Chief Commercial Officer, Air Seychelles, highlighted the success of their Colombo flights, saying, “The codeshare agreement is the next step in strengthening our partnership, offering passengers a streamlined experience with a single ticket across Asia and Australia.”

Travellers can now book flights under the codeshare agreement, with operations set to commence in May 2024. This partnership reflects the commitment of both airlines to elevate the travel experience for their passengers and create more accessible routes to explore diverse destinations globally.

Air India and All Nippon Airways forge codeshare alliance

Commencing sales from April 23, 2024, Air India will apply its ‘AI’ designator code on ANA flights linking Tokyo Haneda and Delhi, as well as Tokyo Narita and Mumbai. Conversely, All Nippon Airways will utilise its ‘NH’ designator code on Air India’s flights between Tokyo Narita and Delhi. Both airlines are contemplating extending this codeshare cooperation to additional routes in the future.
