SpiceJet launches new route with daily flights to Phuket from Delhi, ET TravelWorld

Budget carrier SpiceJet is set to spread its wings to the captivating island of Phuket, Thailand with daily, direct flights commencing from May 31, 2024. The airline will operate daily non-stop flights connecting Delhi and Phuket, offering travellers an easy gateway to the Thai tourist hotspot.

Phuket, known as the “Pearl of the Andaman Sea,” is revered for its picturesque beaches, lively nightlife, and rich cultural tapestry. From serene coastal retreats to bustling markets, Phuket presents a diverse array of experiences for visitors to indulge in. The carrier said its new new service is aimed to provide travellers with a seamless and cost-effective means to explore the myriad charms of Phuket.

Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to launch our inaugural service to Phuket, a globally acclaimed destination. We are confident that our new daily non-stop flights will be a preferred choice for both leisure and business travellers, ensuring a smooth journey to Phuket and enabling them to fully immerse themselves in the island’s allure. This initiative reinforces our commitment to expanding our international network and offering passengers a diverse range of exciting destinations.”

These additional flights complement Air India’s existing daily, non-stop services to Zurich from June 16, 2024, as well as daily services to Frankfurt and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG). This expansion aims to enhance inbound and outbound passenger traffic and cargo flows between India and Europe. With the increased frequency to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Milan, Air India will now operate 80 flights a week to and from seven points in mainland Europe.

This new route to Phuket complements SpiceJet’s existing operations to Bangkok from Kolkata and Delhi, further enhancing connectivity to Thailand from India.The flight from Delhi will depart at 9:00 AM, arriving in Phuket at 3:15 PM. The return flight departs Phuket at 4:15 PM, reaching Delhi at 7:20 PM.

Bookings for this new route are open on SpiceJet’s official website and through all authorised travel agents.
