Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (JAL) and IndiGo are pleased to announce the launch of their codeshare partnership, effective December 16, 2024. This collaboration will offer enhanced travel options for passengers and strengthen cultural and business exchanges between Japan and India.
The codeshare partnership will initially expand JAL’s connectivity to India, with future phases offering IndiGo customers additional travel options across JAL’s extensive domestic and international network. As India’s leading airline with a market share exceeding 60 per cent, IndiGo will begin codesharing on domestic routes within India that connect to JAL-operated flights to and from Delhi and Bengaluru.
Currently, JAL operates daily services between Tokyo (Haneda) and Delhi, and five times weekly services between Tokyo (Narita) and Bengaluru. With this new partnership, JAL aims to establish a comprehensive network within India, connecting to key cities through IndiGo-operated domestic flights.

The codeshare agreement will provide travelers with access to 18 destinations across India, offering more options for business, leisure, and tourism. Both airlines are eager to expand their partnership, with plans for further cooperation to offer greater convenience and more travel options in the future.
The Launch Date is decided to be December 16, 2024 (Subject to government approval) and Reservation and Ticket Sales Start from December 4, 2024
