IndiGo launches direct flights from Pune to Bangkok and Thiruvananthapuram, ET TravelWorld

IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has announced the launch of direct flights from Pune to Bangkok and Thiruvananthapuram. The Pune-Bangkok route will be the first direct international service from Pune, starting on November 22, 2024. These new flights aim to provide a seamless travel experience, making them an excellent choice for families planning holidays during the festive season or winter break.

IndiGo will also be the only airline offering direct flights between Pune and Thiruvananthapuram, with operations commencing on October 27, 2024. Additionally, IndiGo has recently enhanced connectivity on key domestic routes from Pune, including Pune–Bhopal, Pune–Chennai, Pune–Ahmedabad, Pune–Indore, and Pune–Raipur, further strengthening the city’s role as a significant travel hub.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, said, “We are thrilled to introduce direct flights between Pune and Bangkok. With this, IndiGo will operate over 85 direct weekly flights to Thailand from eight cities in India. This reflects our commitment to expanding our network and solidifying Pune’s position as a key hub in India.

More airlines announce flights between India and Thailand in March under air bubble travel

After Thai Airways, its subsidiary Thai Smile apart from major Indian carriers such as IndiGo, SpiceJet and Go First have launched bilateral flights between both nations. Direct connections under the air bubble agreement are between Thai capital Bangkok & Phuket, and key metro cities in India – Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Bengaluru.

Pune, recognized as a major IT, automotive, and manufacturing hub, is also known as the “Oxford of the East” for its prominence in education and its role as the second-largest software hub in India. The city boasts rich cultural and historical landmarks such as Lal Mahal, Shivneri Fort, Shaniwar Wada, and Sinhagad Fort, making it a vibrant destination for both business and leisure travelers.Bangkok, Thailand’s bustling capital, offers a blend of modernity and tradition with its skyscrapers, historic temples, and street markets. Travelers can explore cultural sites like the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, indulge in authentic Thai cuisine, and experience the city’s dynamic nightlife and shopping scenes.

Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, is a serene coastal city known for its cultural heritage and natural beauty. Famous for landmarks such as the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the city serves as a gateway to Kerala’s picturesque beaches and lush landscapes, offering travelers a peaceful retreat.

Travelers can book these new flights through IndiGo’s official website or mobile app. The introduction of these services will further enhance IndiGo’s domestic and international connectivity, providing customers with more travel options.
