Akasa Air, India’s rapidly growing airline, has announced the introduction of daily direct flights between Abu Dhabi and the cities of Bengaluru and Ahmedabad, effective from 1st March 2025. These new services build upon the airline’s existing daily route between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi, launched in July 2024, and further strengthen Akasa Air’s presence in the United Arab Emirates.

The Indian market has emerged as a significant contributor to tourism in Abu Dhabi, thanks to its geographical proximity, shared cultural ties, and the city’s diverse range of experiential offerings. The expansion of Akasa Air’s routes is driven by a positive response to its Mumbai-Abu Dhabi service and growing demand for travel to the UAE from across India, including two key cities – Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.

Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, expressed his enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “We are excited to enhance our network in the UAE with the addition of daily direct flights connecting Abu Dhabi with two major Indian cities – Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. This expansion aligns with our goal of making air travel more accessible to a larger segment of the Indian population by improving international connectivity across the country. This increased connectivity will also help foster the ongoing growth of trade, tourism, and economic activity between India and the UAE.”He further added, “It is truly gratifying to see Akasa Air becoming the preferred choice for travelers, and we remain committed to ensuring reliability and affordability as we continue to expand our global footprint.”

Akasa Air offers a range of premium products and services to provide a warm and comfortable flying experience. Its modern fleet is designed with ample legroom and enhanced comfort, with many aircraft equipped with USB charging ports to keep passengers connected throughout their journey. The airline’s onboard meal service, Café Akasa, provides a variety of healthy and delicious meal options, including festive menus and industry-first offerings like Kombucha, ensuring a gourmet experience in the sky.

All-women crew brings home 25th aircraft for Akasa Air

Captains Bhavna Gandhi and Sanaya Chothia led the delivery flight, which commenced in Seattle, USA, on 9th September 2024. The aircraft, bearing the registration number VT-YBB, completed its journey through Keflavik, Iceland, and Larnaca, Cyprus, before landing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad on 12th September 2024. With 25 aircraft now delivered, Akasa Air is on track to receive another 201 aircraft over the next eight years, further solidifying its ambitious vision to be a carrier that transcends generations.

For travelers looking to explore Abu Dhabi, Akasa Holidays offers customisable, all-inclusive holiday packages at competitive prices. The airline’s Skyscore service provides live updates of major sporting events, and the Quiet Flights initiative ensures a peaceful and restful journey on early morning and late-night flights. In its commitment to inclusivity, Akasa Air has introduced safety and menu cards in Braille for passengers with visual impairments.

Since its launch in August 2022, Akasa Air has gained a reputation for consistent on-time performance, operational efficiency, and exceptional customer service. The airline has served over 13 million passengers to date and currently operates flights to 22 domestic cities and five international destinations, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Guwahati, Agartala, Pune, Lucknow, Goa, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Port Blair, Ayodhya, Gwalior, Srinagar, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Doha (Qatar), Jeddah, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Abu Dhabi (UAE), and Kuwait City (Kuwait).
